World stocks up on US recovery signs, earnings

Seoul, South Korea (AP) - Global stock markets rose, began to rise Thursday, the mood in the U.S. housing and solid corporate earnings cheered.

Japan's Toshiba rose 1.5%, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company shares rose 3.6 percent.
Corporate earnings reports sent stocks higher in Europe. Britain's FTSE 100 rose 0.1 percent, Germany's DAX index rose 0.6 percent to 5,693.66 points to 6,722.47 points. The French CAC-40 index rose 0.4 percent to 3,248.5.
Futures indicates that another of Wall Street's rise. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 0.3 percent to 12,903 points, the S & P 500 index futures rose 0.3 percent, to 1,371.20.
The benchmark crude oil futures prices for August delivery rose 40 cents a barrel and $ 90.27 in the New York Mercantile Exchange electronic trading. Contract increased by 65 cents, to $ 89.87 a barrel in New York the end of Wednesday.
In the currency market, the dollar fell 0.2 percent to 78.61 yen, the euro against the U.S. dollar rose 0.1 percent, to $ 1.229.
