New GORE® STA-PURE™ Gaskets Deliver Exceptional Sealing Performance for Pharmaceutical and Food Proce

Gore PharmBIO Products, a business initiative of W. L. Gore & Associates, has introduced new gasketing products specifically produced for the demanding regulatory requirements of the pharmaceutical, food and beverage processing industries. New GORE® STA-PURE™ Gasketing products maintain consistently reliable seals while meeting the FDA requirements for food contact and USP Class VI < 88 > biocompatibility. Manufactured according to appropriate Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and stringent quality systems, these 100-percent expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) gasketing products deliver consistency in material composition and provide complete documentation for lot traceability -- a crucial component for managing the supply chain successfully.

Drawing on Gore's extensive expertise in sealants and materials science, the PharmBIO team anticipated the increased regulatory requirements of the pharmaceutical and food processing industries by developing two new products: GORE® STA-PURE™ Pipe Gasket Style 1500 and GORE® STA-PURE™ Sheet Gasketing Style 1200.

GORE® STA-PURE™ Pipe Gasket Style 1500 offers the unique combination of low stress-to-seal with long-term sealing reliability. Style 1500 gaskets are ideal for standardizing gasket materials across steel, glass-lined steel and FRP systems.

The highly conformable GORE® STA-PURE™ Sheet Gasketing Style 1200 provides exceptional resistance to creep and cold flow for reliable long-term sealing. This gasketing material conforms to rough, irregular flanges and makes a tight, long lasting seal. Because it is chemically inert and dimensionally stable at high temperatures and pressures, Style 1200 maintains a seal in the most demanding process and system environments.

According to Joe Cintavey, Product Specialist for the GORE® STA-PURE™ gasket portfolio, "Manufacturing these products according to appropriate GMPs using stringent quality systems has enabled Gore PharmBIO to deliver two attributes critical to these regulated industries: reliability and compliance."
