Kaman Corp. Appoints Richard S. Smith, Jr. Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary

Kaman Corporation (NYSE: KAMN) yesterday announced that Richard S. Smith, Jr. has been named Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary reporting to Shawn G. Lisle, Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel.

Smith will assume responsibility as the corporate Secretary upon the retirement of Candace A. Clark later this year. He will also focus on SEC and securities law matters, capital transactions, and mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

Smith joins Kaman after a twenty-eight year career with Murtha Cullina LLP, where he was a partner and focused his practice on general corporate matters, securities law and mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Murtha is in its eighth decade of providing outside counsel services to Kaman.

“Rich is a welcome addition to the Corporate Law Department. His experience in his areas of practice and coming from a firm with which we have such a long-standing relationship will be extremely beneficial,” stated Lisle.

He received both his Juris Doctor degree and Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy Studies and Economics from Duke University in Durham, NC. Rich and his family are residents of West Hartford, Connecticut.
