GGB Bearing Technology, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, announced yesterday that it has no connection with CLI Bearings, which has effectively been presenting itself as a distributor for GGB products in China.
“CLI offers a number of bearings designated as GGB products, notably DU and DX metal-polymer parts, which GGB invented and continues to market globally,” said Alain Cervantes, GGB vice president of global marketing.
“It is important to note these products are not manufactured by GGB, and as such are not genuine DU and DX bearings,” he explained. “To avoid confusion in the marketplace and assure purchasers they are receiving the real thing, we have created distinctive logos to convey the authenticity of these iconic products.”
GGB has had a presence in the country since 2005, and currently has a production facility in Suzhou and sales offices in Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Tianjin.
