CEMEX, an international building materials company, has unveiled the Ecoperating seal, which will recognize the services and products from the company’s range of building solutions that possess an exceptional sustainability performance.
Ecoperating seal was specifically developed using a thorough internal process, which determines the social and ecological impact of CEMEX building solutions, ranging from low CO2 concrete or cement to services like paperless invoicing, to building solutions such as concrete pavements together with smart LED lightings, to utilize alternative fuels, and to start up affordable housing construction.
Contribution towards CO2 footprint reduction, consumption of recycled raw material and sustainable features like thermal insulation are considered to be the relevant criteria for a service or product to get qualified for the Ecoperating seal.
According to Sustainability Director of CEMEX, Vicente Saisó, the company is popular for its initiatives and services, which considerably minimize the ecological impacts. Through the Ecoperating seal, clients will be able to recognize the initiatives taken by the company to promote sustainable development via its building solutions.
Several concrete and cement products from CEMEX now include the Ecoperating seal and this seal will be launched in Costa Rica, Colombia, Egypt, Mexico and the Philippines during Q3 of 2012, and also in countries in Asia, the Caribbean, Northern Europe and South America during Q4 of 2012 and the first half of next year.
