Visit SKF on Stand 3D200 in Hall 3, 6 to 8 September, Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre
SKF, the knowledge engineering company, is to launch a range of its innovative technologies for the oil and gas industry at this year's Offshore Europe exhibition. Products on show will include bearings, seals, lubrication and linear motion solutions, specifically designed to help engineers improve the performance, functionality and reliability of production and process systems.
SKF will also be showcasing its latest intrinsically safe and ATEX approved condition monitoring instruments and solutions for asset efficiency optimisation, which can help to extend system life and cut operating costs. These include the rugged SKF Microlog AX, a high performance, four channel portable instrument with a large, high definition colour VGA display for fast data collection and analysis, while the SKF Multilog IMx is a sophisticated online system that provides both protection for distributed machinery and continuous condition monitoring in a single device, for use in both conventional and hazardous areas.

Also on show will be SKF's advanced hybrid cryogenic pump bearings, which offer exceptional levels of reliability and performance where moving parts are exposed to abrasive particles, corrosive gases and liquid contaminants, vibration and electric currents. SKF hybrid bearings combine specially developed ultraclean, high-nitrogen steel, which gives excellent impact toughness, high fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance, with tough rolling elements constructed from silicon nitride. By comparison with conventional bearings, the latest hybrid devices have the ability to extend bearing life by at least 600%.

Other bearing units on show will include mud motor bearings, designed to resist severe axial and shock loads, with a unique multi-row construction that ensures long trouble-free operating life; and magnetic bearings for electrically driven compressors, delivering a compact, almost friction-less solution that reduces maintenance, noise and the risk of gas leaks.

Similarly, the latest SKF sealing solutions have been developed to offer long and maintenance-free operating life under harsh conditions. The company can supply a wide range of seals manufactured from advanced materials, including ED-resistant thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers with a high resistance to hydrolysis at temperatures up to +90°C. Also available are seals in fluoro-rubber (FKM) and hydrogenated acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR), which resist heat, ageing, ozone and chemicals, making them ideal for use in applications where sulphur, HFD pressure fluids, sulfonated crude oil, aliphatic hydrocarbons and sour gas are encountered.
