NSK Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Bombardier BRP

NSK-Sponsored Racing Team Reaches 2nd Place in National Standings

NSK Canada is pleased to announce their 2nd place finish in semi pro open mode and 8th place finish in semi pro super stock at the 27th Grand Prix Ski-doo national event in Valcourt, Quebec on February 21- 22, 2009. The NSK sled driven by driver Tim Tremblay won its preliminary heat to advance to the final round of competition in the Semi Pro Super Stock event. Of more than 40 competitors, only 16 raced in the main event, where the NSK-sponsored Warnert Racing team placed 8th overall.

This year's race marks the 50th anniversary of the Ski-doo, which was first produced in 1959 by Bombardier in Valcourt, Quebec. In celebration of the 50 years of Bombardier's ski-doo production, the week of festivities was a homecoming for all ski-doo enthusiasts to the birthplace of the wintertime machine.

NSK is the proud sponsor of the Warnert Racing team and official bearing supplier for the entire Ski-doo racing program. "Our involvement with the Grand Prix event, and with ski-doo racing, has allowed us to really connect with the public and showcase our quality products in a very real way," says Eric Dion of NSK Canada. "We invite our customers and staff to watch the races at our VIP booth at the finish line, and we host a celebratory dinner to thank everyone for choosing NSK products and to support the memory of the legendary made in Canada ski-doo." NSK's celebratory dinner also raised $1000 for the heart foundation which is in association with the Grand-Prix Ski-Doo event.

The week leading up to the Grand Prix was filled with free family events and anniversary celebrations, including a concert, parade, and games for the children. Racers compete in over 150 races in 33 categories. Estimates are that more than 30,000 people joined in the festivities this year.

This race season marks NSK's inaugural year working with Warnert Racing. Quebec native Tim Tremblay has been racing for NSK and is currently ranked second overall in the national tour standings.
