More than 50 representatives from some of the UK’s leading manufacturing companies gathered in the Midlands for a seminar on delivering cost savings through reduced energy consumption.
The event, entitled ‘Delivering cost savings through improved energy management’, was run by Brammer, part of Europe’s leading distributor of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) products and services, in conjunction with a number of key strategic suppliers, and took place at Brammer’s Centre of Excellence in Wolverhampton.
At a time when reducing energy costs is a key consideration for all manufacturers, the event addressed, via real case studies of Brammer customers, how energy efficiency can be improved, and the real capital and operational cost savings achievable through careful ion and management of motors, drives, gearboxes, drive belts and compressed air systems.
With technical specialists located across the UK and the support of leading product manufacturers, Brammer works with companies of all sizes and across all manufacturing sectors to reduce their energy consumption and deliver real improvements to their performance and competitiveness.
Seminar speakers included Stephen Barker of Siemens on ‘Energy Efficiency Best Practice’ as well as experts from Brammer. Delegates also found out more about the Carbon Trust Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme and had the opportunity to quiz the experts about their own energy issues.
Meanwhile, technical experts from Brammer, Siemens, SMC and Gates were on hand for more detailed discussion, while delegates toured the Brammer Centre of Excellence which features a number of energy saving demonstration rigs.
Ian Woolley from GSK said: “This was a well-organised and enjoyable event which provided invaluable advice on how to manage and reduce energy consumption in manufacturing operations. With energy a major cost and the environment a consideration for all manufacturers, anything we can do to reduce energy usage is veryl worthwhile – the Brammer seminar provided real practical advice for all the delegates in attendance.”
