SKF India Ltd, a leading technology and solutions provider of bearings, seals, services and other related products today announced the launch of its testing centre here.
The Testing Centre will work in close proximity to SKF's Application Development Centre to bring out new products to the market, an SKF statement said.
Some of the topical product developments at the Application Development Centre are Clutch Lifter, Rocker Arm Bearing and Cam Followers among others.
The centre will also be the first of its kind by SKF in India. The main objective will be to conduct testing in close proximity to its customers for design, process and supplier validation.
This then shall entail greater support for SKF's processes in a faster and cost effective manner by applying global test standards that adapt to local customer specific requirements.
Rakesh Makhija, Managing Director, SKF India, said, "The new Testing Centre will end down lead times significantly for our customers and will also ensure that we are able to respond speedily to our customer's requirements for new products".
The Bangalore factory has an investment of Rs 300 crore. Today it has the installed capacity to produce 100 million bearings with an employee strength of 427, he said.
