NN Ball & Roller Donates Over $3,000 to Kiwanis Shopping Tour

Last week representatives from NN Ball & Roller, Inc. presented the Kiwanis Club with a $3,450 donation. This money directly benefited the Kiwanis Tour which took place last Saturday at the Unicoi County Wal-Mart.

According to NN representative Alan Foster, NN has been involved in tour for twenty years. He added that this was the largest donation they have given to the shopping spree. The company donated $2,000 and the employees donated the remaining $1,450. “The people of NN just want to give back what we’ve been blessed with to those less fortunate,” Foster said.

Prior to last year the Christmas shopping tour was sponsored by the Jaycees. Kiwanis member Johnny Jones said that Saturday’s shopping tour the second sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. “Our mission is to help children and the shopping spree fits in with that mission, Jones said. “I have been amazed by the generosity of our community.”

Approximately 120 children, grades K-4, were chosen by their teachers to participate in the shopping spree. Also, 51 Head Start children received gift certificates their parents will use to buy Christmas presents.
