Royal Bank of Scotland chief executive Stephen ? Hurst (Stephen Hester) reported a first half profit of 535 million pounds ($ 811 million) as he prepares to step down after five years in the British bank bailout.
The bank's net income loss of 2.03 one billion pounds a year earlier. RBS on Friday appointed 56-year-old Ross McEwan, a native of New Zealand, October 1 has served as Chief Executive Officer.
Hester, aged 52, was appointed CEO in October 2008, the government stepped in to prevent the collapse of Royal Bank of Scotland, has been extended to the world, his predecessor, Fred Goodwin, bought a Dutch bank ABN AMRO. Government finally able to get 4.5 billion pounds ($ 7.1 billion) bailout to protect the UK economy.
