TriMas Corporation (NAS: TRS) - a diversified global manufacturer of engineered and applied products - announced that its Monogram Aerospace Fasteners business has been awarded certification of compliance with the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Standard (EMS). With more than 120 years of experience, Monogram delivers innovative, high quality aerospace fasteners and products to its customers and has established itself as a recognized leader in blind bolt technology to the aerospace industry.
"This certification is a validation of Monogram's continued focus on the environment and commitment to the highest standards of quality management," said David Adler, president of Monogram. "ISO 14001 certification is globally accepted as the Environmental Management System standard, providing a systematic approach to controlling environmental hazards and reducing the risk of accidents, while improving business practices and processes."
The EMS was developed using the same focus as Monogram's current process-based Quality Management System (QMS) template. The innovative process illustrates correlations between recyclable, renewable and non-renewable resource inputs and outputs, applicable environmental regulations, assigned job functions and associated work procedures.
Monogram was dedicated to achieving this certification to ensure environmental compliance and sustainability of operations, to better serve its major customers and to increase its competitiveness within the aerospace fastener industry. It has identified its first two environmental objectives as achieving reductions in both the consumption of resources and in the generation of wastewater and hazardous wastes. Monogram is already certified to the AS9100 Rev C and the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Standards. The certification is registered through the DNV Business Assurance and is valid October 10, 2012 through October 10, 2015.
