Upon the advice from West Cape Bearing and Transmission, "Oom Jan" fitted SKF Yelag bearings to one of their potato harvesters. It didn't take long for "Oom Jan" to realize he had a quality product and went about systematically making the necessary changes to all the harvesters.
Harvesters that had needed to have new bearings fitted up to three times a season could now operate, with the SKF product, through the season without changing any bearing. Oom Jan explained "Surprisingly, these are bearings that work in the sand. This upgrade means less down-time and greater productivity for myself and my colleagues. I make fewer visits to West Cape Bearing and Transmission and I occasionally have time for a cup of coffee with the team."
