SKF, the knowledge engineering company, has launched its latest series of standalone machine systems for the manufacture of precision machined seals. The upgraded equipment allows SKF to offer customers even faster service in the delivery of high quality customised seals across a wide range of diameters and materials, helping to cut costs and production times while increasing flexibility in many different applications.
Incorporating high speed, in-house designed and built CNC lathes with the latest digital controls, the new generation of SKF machines can produce precision machined seals in a range of sizes, up to 600mm in diameter, with short cycle times and high quality surface finishes.
SKF provides a nationwide service, through a network of dedicated service centres, for the design and manufacture of these customised seals. Regional locations close to key markets offer fast turnaround of bespoke sealing solutions across a range of different polymers, while profiles can be stored on a database for easy access and modification.
The technology offers high flexibility in producing prototypes, single-pieces and short runs for individual customers' demands and can deliver results in a matter of hours to solve almost any sealing problem.
