Thordon Bearings has appointed George Morrison as Area Sales Manager for Western Europe replacing retiring Campbell Cunningham.
According to Thordon's Commercial Director, Jan Willem de Jong, Mr, Morrison's experience and energy will be a catalyst for maintaining strong growth in Western Europe.
"George is the perfect leader to develop our existing and new products with our strong distribution network," said Mr. de Jong. "He brings a wealth of bearing and seals experience combined with sales, engineering and management that will allow him to offer the best solutions to our customers."
Mr. Morrison says, "I was attracted to the role in Thordon Bearings due to the company's unwavering commitment to the product range and the environmental benefits of using them. I am certain that the market for water lubricated bearings will be growing over the future years and I am looking forward to developing this within Western Europe."
Mr. Morrison is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer who began his career in 1994 as a design engineer working with U.K.-based companies such as Turboflex Ltd., SSS Gears and Bibby Transmissions. In 2002, he moved into commercial sales working with John Crane UK Ltd., and then on to Railko and Wartsila providing sales and commercial management of seals and bearings. He holds a B.Eng from the University of Glasgow and an MBA from Buckinghamshire Business School in the U.K.
Thordon Bearings Inc. designs and manufactures a complete range of polymer bearing and shaftline products for the marine, clean power generation, pump, offshore and industrial markets.
