An engineering parts supplier is celebrating a record year with a move to new premises. Oxford Bearings has uprooted from the Chiltern Business centre in Oxford to new purpose-built premises in Transport Way, Cowley.

The company, which started in Bicester in 1984 and still has premises in the town, has just unveiled a turnover of £3.6m, the highest in its history.

Chairman John Hooker said: “We have managed to keep growing right through the recession and we are looking to continue that and employ more staff in 2011.”

The company supplies bearings, fasteners and a range of other machinery parts, as well as sealants and adhesives to a wide range of clients in the automotive and medical sectors across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Mr Hooker, who is looking to recruit three new workers, added: “It is testament to the quality of our staff that 2010 has been the most successful in the company’s history. I am confident the company is in a strong position to continue its growth and further strengthen
relationships with customers.”
