BSA Welcomes International Trade Expert to 2010 Fall Meeting

The Bearings Specialists Association (BSA) has announced that Suzanne Richer, President, Customs & Trade Solutions, Inc., will discuss “International Trade Issues Affecting the Bearing Industry” in a luncheon presentation to all attendees at the BSA 2010 Fall Meeting on Monday, September 27th at the Hilton Suites Chicago-Magnificent Mile in Chicago, Illinois.

Richer is a licensed Customs Broker with over twenty five years in international supply chain management. She has served in the Ports of Detroit, Miami, Newark and Philadelphia. Richer has counseled corporations in the importation of Automotive Vehicles and Parts, Electronics, Wearing Apparel and Machinery, and has worked with clients during closing audits with U.S. Customs, assisted in programs such as C-TPAT at Tier 3 levels, and counseled on international trade law issues. Richer was recognized in 2006 by the Journal of Commerce as one of the top 20 Women in Transportation.

International trade is a key topic for BSA. The association recently embraced an anti-counterfeiting distributor partnership proposal from the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA). BSA’s opposition to counterfeit products is well-established. Its Top Ten program of reasons to buy products and services from authorized BSA member distributors was launched in 2007 to help distributors educate end users about the value of authorized distribution.

In addition to the international trade presentation, the BSA 2010 Fall Meeting offers the association’s committees the opportunity to pursue their agendas without the distractions of broader programming at the BSA Annual Convention. BSA encourages members and participating manufacturers who are not currently committee members to attend the Fall Meeting and “try out” committees that interest them, as well as the BSA networking opportunity. The accessible Chicago location and a well-planned schedule of committee meetings allow attendees to participate with minimal time away from their other business responsibilities.
Additional Fall Meeting information is available from the BSA website, www.bsahome.org or by calling the association at (630) 858-3838. Registration deadline is August 26th.

BSA is the “must belong to organization for authorized bearing distributors.” An international service and educational organization of distributors representing a total of almost 100 companies distributing factory-warranted ball-, roller-, and anti-friction bearings and invited manufacturers of bearings and related products, the association’s mission says, “BSA is the forum to enhance networking and knowledge sharing and promote the sale of bearings through authorized distributors.” For more information on BSA contact the BSA office at (630) 858-3838; fax (630) 790-3095; email info@bsahome.org or visit the association website at www.bsahome.org. ###
