SKF, the knowledge engineering company, has received an award from customer Siemens Mobility in the UK, in recognition of their high standard of technical support.
The accolade, for ‘Best Technical Support by a Supplier’, was presented by Siemens Mobility Overhaul and Repair Manager Nick Kay, acknowledging the high level of engineering support offered by the SKF UK Railway Sales Unit to allow extended mileages to be operated by the Siemens trains optimising wheel set utilisation through increased bearing life.
The award was given during SKF’s supplier day held at the York National Railway Museum. Upon accepting it, Railway Sales Unit Key Account Manager Mike Kerry said, “The SKF UK Railway Sales Unit is delighted to have been recognised for their technical support skills and is committed to delivering an exceptionally high service to Siemens, as well as all their other customers”.
This latest achievement is an acknowledgement of SKF’s UK first class customer service provided to the rail industry, part of a worldwide network of production and service units as well as sales, application and service engineers. Their expertise in bearings, seals, axleboxes, lubrication systems and linear motion technologies has made them a valuable partner to railway vehicle manufacturers worldwide.
