ASTM International Technical Workshop on Rolling Element Bearings

A technical workshop on Rolling Element Bearings will be held May 12-14, 2009, at the Ayres Hotel in Hawthorne, Calif. Sponsored by ASTM International Committee F34 on Rolling Element Bearings and Northrop Grumman Space Technology (NGST), the workshop will be held in conjunction with the May 12-14 standards development meetings of the committee. In addition to the workshop, there will be a tour of the NGST site.

Los Angeles, Calif., is home to a number of leading edge satellite, aerospace and other industrial manufacturers who utilize rolling element bearings. A number of experts in their field will be giving presentations at the workshop and are eager to share their knowledge base. The intended audience is anyone with interest in rolling element bearings, its application, analysis, testing and lessons learned, etc. Membership in ASTM is not required to attend, present or participate in the workshop.

The workshop organizing committee is looking for authors who are experts in their field to give a talk in the format of a presentation, lecture, or tutorial on various topics relevant to the bearing community. If you are interested in presenting, please submit your name, title (Dr., Mr., Ms., etc.), position, affiliation/company name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail, presentation title and abstract (maximum 170 words) to workshop chair Dr. Yoshimi Takeuchi by Feb. 2. The approved presentations will be due by May 5. Your presentation slides will be made available in CD format as Proceedings of the 2009 ASTM Rolling Element Bearing Workshop and sent to workshop attendees.
