General Bearing Corp. reported net income for the second quarter of $1.5 million or $0.40 per share, lower than $1.8 million or $0.46 per share in the same quarter a year-ago.

Quarterly sales rose to $35.1 million from $32.5 million in the previous year quarter.

For the six-month period, net income was $2.7 million or $0.71 per share, compared to $3.5 million or $0.90 per share in the prior year period. Sales for the period were $69.2 million, up from $64.2 million in the year-ago period.
