Products and services from about one thousand suppliers contribute to ensuring that MAN trucks and buses discharge their transport duties reliably and economically. For the fifth time now MAN Nutzfahrzeuge has rewarded its ten best suppliers of 2007 with the "Trucknology Supplier" title. SKF is one of those ten best suppliers. Environmental aspects played a major role in selection of the ten winners. Martina Buchhauser, Head of the Central Purchasing division, and Prof. Dr. Karl Viktor Schaller, Director Engineering & Purchasing at the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group, commended their performance.
"On the one hand the ten prize-winners convinced us with a degree of innovation, quality, reliability of supply and cost-consciousness that is above the normal level. On the other hand they display a positive basic attitude to exploring new avenues with MAN in search of solutions," said Martina Buchhauser in stating the reasons for the choice of last year's Trucknology Suppliers.
SKF has a long lasting and reliable relationship with MAN. MAN was for example the first customer in Germany to switch over to SKF's new truck hub units. Today SKF is the sole supplier of MAN's front axles. And in May last year SKF delivered its 1,000,000th truck hub unit to MAN Nutzfahrzeuge.
