SKF India Ltd. (a division of SKF AB, Sweden) reported financial results for first quarter 2008, ended March 31, 2008.

Sales in the quarter were Rs 3.9 billion (USD $99 million), up 9% from 2007's Rs 3.6 billion

Net profit was reported at Rs 378 million ($8.9 million), up 3% from Rs 367 million in 2007.

The company said higher sales did not leverage into the same increase in profitability due to sharply higher costs for energy and raw materials.
