Precision RPM (USA) has been named North America's Authorized Distributor for Gamet Bearings (a division of 600 Group, UK).

Gamet Bearings has been manufacturing ultra-precision bearings at its plant in Colchester, UK since the early 1950's. Originally founded to produce bearings for the machine tool industry, Gamet gradually expanded its product line to other industry sectors.

The 600 Group also acquired Gamet Precision SA (France) in 2001.

The company now manufactures super precision tapered roller bearings; single-row, double-row and constant preload versions; angular contact ball bearings; precision roller assemblies for metal rolling, metalfinishing and high-precision conveyors; ballscrew support cartridges and bearings; precision rotating centers for lathes and turning machines.

Precision RPM said it will carry approximately 1,100 Gamet bearings, but that Gamet also offers a wide array of custom-manufactured tapered roller bearings at shorter lead times than U.S. manufacturers now offer.
