Garlock Sealing Technologies, a leader in fluid sealing technology for more than 100 years, is now manufacturing its Helicoflex® spring-energized metal seals in a new production facility in Pune, India. The company is producing the seals for the local market, which includes the power generation, semiconductor and chemical processing industries, among others.
“Growing demand for our sealing products calls for a physical presence in India, one of the world's fastest-growing economies,” said Harald Poppke, managing director of Garlock's operations in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. “The products we will be manufacturing there find extensive application in the power generation industry, particularly nuclear plants. India's demand for electrical energy is expected to more than double by the year 2030, making this a particularly promising market for us.”
Garlock, an EnPro Industries company, will share the 12,000-sq.-ft. plant with GGB, an EnPro company that produces metal-polymer plain bearings. The joint plant will operate under the auspices of EnPro India, a shared services organization, with Deepak Naik serving as general manager of the business.
EnPro Industries, Inc. is a leader in sealing products, metal polymer and filament wound bearings, compressor systems and components, diesel and dual-fuel engines and other engineered products for use in critical applications by industries worldwide.
