Vartan Vartanian appointed President, SKF Service Division
Vartan Vartanian has been appointed President, SKF Service Division and will join the Executive Committee. He replaces Phil Knights who will take up a role as Senior Vice President, Global Relations. Phil Knights has successfully led the Service Division since its inception in 1998. The changes will be effective as of 2 April.
Vartan Vartanian is at present Area Director, Service Division Europe. He has been with SKF since 1990 and held a number of executive positions in Poland, Czech Republic and Sweden.
Vartan Vartanian is 54 years and has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He was born in Lebanon and has a dual, Canadian/Swedish, citizenship. He lives in Sweden and is married with three children.
The Service Division is responsible for sales to the industrial aftermarket, mainly via a network of around 7,000 distributor locations. In addition to the sales of products the division supports customers with knowledge-based service solutions to optimize plant asset efficiency. The Division's sales represent around 33% of the Group's sales.
