Schaeffler Group Industrial at Zellcheming 2007
Schaeffler Group Industrial, with its brands INA und FAG, will display its products and solution expertise for paper machines and plants at Zellcheming 2007. This international annual meeting and exhibition is scheduled to take place from 26-28 June 2007 at the Rhein-Main-Hallen expo center in Wiesbaden. Highlights on the Schaeffler exhibition stand will include TRIONDUR® coated spherical roller bearings for thermo rolls, spherical roller bearing with Teflon (PTFE) coating, ASSR bearings (Anti Slippage Spherical Roller Bearings) for CD profile control rolls as well as PF bearing housings for felt guide rolls. Together with its service subsidiary FAG Industrial Services (F’IS), the company will also present solutions for condition-based maintenance (condition monitoring) using the FAG VibroCheck. Online monitoring increases the availability of machines and plants and reduces costs.
ASSR bearings (Anti Slippage Spherical Rolling Bearings) for CD profile control rolls in paper machines represent a combination of a spherical roller bearing and a spherical ball bearing. The ASSR bearing helps to avoid slippage-related damage in paper machines. Bearing slippage, which can occur when loads are too low, can cause the rupture of the lubricant film in the rolling bearing so that the rolling elements and raceways are no longer separated. The result of this is bearing damage and even cold welding, leading to costly unplanned shutdowns. In the cage pockets of ASSR bearings, however, each ball is followed by a barrel roller. In low-load phases, the ball set ensures slippage-free operation. In high load phases, the balls deflect within the permissible elastic range and the barrel rollers take up the loads. The benefits for the customer are plain to see: The bearing offers longer service life as well as higher operational safety and reliability.
TRIONDUR® coated spherical roller bearings, designed to support thermo rolls in paper machine calenders, also offer increased wear protection, longer uptime and higher security against unplanned downtime. Developed by the Schaeffler Group, TRIONDUR® is a surface coating for heavily stressed components that enables excellent protection against wear and minimum friction with maximum tribological and mechanical load carrying capacity. Good emergency running characteristics in conditions of insufficient lubrication ensure clearly longer service life for the components.
Another highlight on Schaeffler Group Industrial’s exhibition stand is the PF bearing housing for felt guide rolls which is directly mounted onto the tapered shaft. The bearing ensures optimum sealing between the protruding shaft and the housing. This extends the oil life and thus the bearing service life and also prevents the oil becoming contaminated with water, for example during cleaning. Oil leakage and the resulting contamination of the environment and the paper web are also avoided.
FAG Industrial Services GmbH (F’IS) will present its FAG VibroCheck online condition monitoring system which identifies imbalances, misalignment, rolling bearing damage and gearing problems at an early stage and thus prevents the unplanned shutdown of machines and plants. The system can handle up to 2048 measurement points and is suitable for monitoring complex plants such as paper machines, rolling mills, cement factories or power stations. Its remote access feature enables the intervention of external condition monitoring experts. A user-friendly, customized visualization ensures that parameters and alarms can immediately be assigned to the relevant components. In the event of alarm activation, repairs can thus be planned well ahead and carried out quickly. The result are lower maintenance costs and higher machine availability.
