BNL (UK), the bearings manufacturer in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, has acquired the injection moulder Cobb Slater, also in the bearings business.
Dr Neil Partlett, managing director of BNL, told PRW.com that BNL bought all of the shares in the Derbyshire-based company at the beginning of April.A consultation period is underway at Cobb Slater’s site in Darley Dale, near Matlock.
Approximately 50 employees could be affected by the outcome, which should be finalised by the middle of next month.Partlett said the newly acquired business was “under review”, but did not rule out the possibility of redundancies.
Nearly 18 months ago, BNL was sold by Swiss firm Sarnatech to Plastics Capital (see PRW.com 2 December 2005), a UK-based plastics products manufacturing business with annual sales of £15m.
