Lightweight Bearings Offer Versatility

Lightweight Bearings Offer Versatility

Micromech has released self-aligning bearings mounted in a high-performance aluminium pillow block and housing flange housings. These new lightweight, corrosion-resistant, robust bearings can be used in a wide range of loads and speeds. They offer a wide variety of design and replacement options, and are the perfect alternative for the more expensive, cast iron mounted ball bearings that may be considered overkill in many applications.

The bearings from Spyraflo provide a number of important benefits, including non-corrosive housings, superior appearance and a +/-5C static self-alignment capability, which solves many problems associated with bearing misalignment.

The pillow block and housing flange line comes with various bearing options, including SAE 840 bronze Teflon-bronze and needle roller bearings.

A significant benefit of the SAE 840 bronze version is its ability to maintain superior integrity of the oil lubricant during manufacture, thereby significantly enhancing bearing performance.

The bearings are available in sizes from 6 to 30mm diameters and because the housings are manufactured in sintered aluminium they ensure a high degree of consistent dimensional accuracy.

With multiple bearing choices, being lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and easy to install, these self-aligning bearings offer a simple solution to often more expensive mounting problems.
