Heilbronn, Germany, October 26, 2006 -- GGB, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, has opened an office in Singapore to support its marketing and technical support activities throughout Asia. The new office will be staffed by Mathias Senghaas, the company's sales manager for Asia.
"The Asian market for our bearings, particularly in the automotive and industrial OEM sectors, is growing exponentially," explained Joe Fults, GGB vice president of business development, in announcing the appointment. "Mathias's experience combined with Singapore's strategic location will significantly expand our capabilities in the region, enabling us to provide even better technical and commercial support to our customers."
Reporting to Senghaas, who joined the company in 1999 and served as its international marketing manager prior to being named to his present position in 2004, are GGB's sales teams in India and China. The company opened a sales office in New Delhi in 2004 and in Shanghai in 2005.
