Duke energy company says its nuclear business and mild weather, the demand for electricity, reduce the costs associated with the its net income dropped 24% in the second quarter.
Duke energy, said in April to June quarter revenue of $3.99 million, or 48 cents per share. This is down to $444 million, or 99 cents a share, a year ago.
Adjusted to remove the influence of the one-time items, the company earnings per share of 87 cents. This is a profit of 93 cents per share, below the average of analysts' expectations.
Revenue rose by $5.88 billion, from $3.58 billion last year. Results do not include Progress Energy company last year, the company in the second quarter of last year after the end of the results obtained.
Analysts expect lower income of $5.73 billion for the latest quarter.
