GM (General Motors) said it would invest $ 691 million assembly plant in Silao, Mexico City, San Luis Potosi and Toluca.
GM President of Mexico, Ernesto Hernandez said Wednesday that the investment will help build a new manufacturing plant in Silao 8-speed transmission and expansion of San Luis Potosi and Toluca plant.
Hernandez said that the automotive industry is a pillar of the Mexican economy, manufacturing accounted for 20% of GDP or more.
General Motors Corporation has been working in Mexico for 78 years.
