Said Wednesday that Mexico and organized crime murder fell 14%, to 4,249 first four months of President Enrique Pena Nieto, who vowed to quickly reduce the threat of drug cartels.
The figure refers to killing from December 2012 to March 2013, and compared the 4,934 organized crime-related homicides in the same period compared to the same period last year, said Interior Minister Miguel Osorio Chong.
"This is a winning attitude is still too early," Gen. Osorio said. "The trend is there, but it is still early, it can surprise us, pick up tomorrow, or even fall off."
Pena Nieto's predecessor, Felipe Calderon, has staked his reputation, the heel of the drug gangs, sent troops to crush Shortly after taking office in December 2006.
