The new standard increased the total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total lead, total chromium, total mercury, 14 water pollutant indicators, coke chemical industry emission standards, an increase of 15 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other industry characteristics pollutants indicators. The new standard also greatly received strict emission limits for dust, sulfur dioxide and chemical oxygen demand, and new emission limits for nitrogen oxides and other pollutants for the environmentally sensitive areas to develop more stringent water and atmospheric pollutants, special emission limits. The coking industry, benzene, hydrogen cyanide, phenols and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other serious hazards to human health of toxic and hazardous substances were strictly controlled.
