Japan's industry minister visited the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, and promised urgent government action to curb the radiation contaminated water leaks.
Toshimitsu Motegi trade minister said on Monday, the plant's operator disrepair largely be attributed to the water storage tank leaks around the plant in 2011 after a massive earthquake and tsunami, suffered three worst-hit.
He said the government will be responsible for patrols tank, to prevent overflow. Last week, the fifth and the worst leakage from a tank at the plant.
Nuclear power plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Company, its shares fell nearly 6.9 percent on Monday as investors sold shares after the release of the crisis at the weekend for further details.
