The world's largest PC maker Lenovo Group said its quarterly profit rose 23 percent, smart phones and other mobile equipment sales doubled.
Lenovo said on Thursday that it won $ 174 million in the three months ended June. Sales grew by 10% to $ 8.8 billion.
Desktop PC shipments were flat, but smart phones, tablet PCs and other mobile devices sales rose 105%. Laptop sales, accounting for 52% of revenue, an increase of 4.7%.
Research firm Gartner and IDC said Lenovo edged past long-time industry leader Hewlett-Packard last quarter for the first time to become the world's largest PC vendor.
