Military aircraft burst into flames moments in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Friday International Airport after landing, sending a thick plume of black smoke into the sky, airport staff and witnesses said.
Small explosions can be heard from the stricken aircraft. Airport staff said that they believe they have caused an explosion of ammunition.
"We heard an explosion, because it burns and it burned like hell, which is sure that it will eventually be in the ash," a security official at the airport told Reuters reporters.
The source said that the fire was so intense fire staff are unable to deal with the fire.
Word not immediately clear where the crew and military aircraft flying.
Military aircraft regularly at the city's airport, but also as a person Qaida-linked Islamist militants fighting the headquarters of the African Union force.
