U.S. Embassy, usually open this Sunday - including those in Abu Dhabi, Baghdad and Cairo - will be closed that day because of unspecified security concerns, the U.S. State Department said on Thursday.
CBS News reported that the embassy closed with U.S. intelligence agencies about the "base" organization conspiracy against the United States in the Middle East and other Muslim countries in diplomatic posts. CBS said the intelligence did not mention the specific location.
"The State Council has instructed a number of U.S. embassies and consulates closed or closed down, on August 4 日 (sunday)," State Department spokeswoman Mary 哈尔夫苏菲 told reporters in her daily briefing. "Security considerations prompted us to take such precautions."
Refused to disclose details of the "Safety Precautions" 哈尔夫苏菲 or named embassies will be closed, but a senior State Department official told reporters, then they are usually those that have been open on Sunday.
State Department Web site quick search shows that those who include some of the United States in the Muslim world tasks, including in Abu Dhabi, Baghdad and Cairo embassy.
CBS News said that the U.S. Embassy will be closed, Bahrain, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
"The department has been informed that the information out to our employees and others who may visit our installation abundant caution and careful ... that we should bring these precautions," 哈尔夫苏菲 said. "Department, when conditions permit, to take such a step, in order to balance the company continued to operate safe and secure."
