Iran's new president said his country's support for the embattled Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad's regime on Sunday, saying that there is no force in the world can shake their decades-old alliance.

Assad vowed to crush the rebels on Sunday night trying to overthrow him, and said Syria is two options: "a state law or a state of thieves and bandits."

This is Assad's second public appearance this week after he visited troops in the Damascus suburb of Daraya Army Day celebrations on Thursday.
Assad said: "Terrorism can not deal with politics, but it should be hit with an iron fist."
Assad's forces have won in the past two months, mostly near the capital Damascus and Homs strategic center, connecting the capital Damascus, Assad's stongholds coast and on.
