Schaeffler received Ford’s “World Excellence Award 2012” in recognition of the outstanding supplier relationship.
Schaeffler received the “Nissan Global Supplier Award” for the development of the LuK multi-link chain for use in the continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Schaeffler has a specific quality requirement: Continuous innovation and zero defects. This is why the company works according to the “Fit for Quality” initiative worldwide with its INA, LuK, and FAG brands. This brings with it demanding targets that have to be met in terms of quality, innovation, service, and delivery performance. Numerous awards from customers all over the world are a testament to the fact that these targets have been met in the long term. “We are very proud of our employees’ performance around the world. For us, these awards are more than just recognition for what we have achieved, they are also a constant incentive for us to provide our customers all over the world with the best services and, in doing so, convince them that Schaeffler is the top supplier of expertise for efficient automobility, both today and in the future”, said Wolfgang Dangel, Member of the Executive Board Automotive.
The list of awards that Schaeffler has received in the last few weeks is long. And, mirroring Schaeffler’s global network, these awards have come from all over the world. In Europe, for example, Toyota Motor Europe expressed their high level of satisfaction by awarding Schaeffer their “Certificate of Recognition” for suppliers.
In the USA, the Ford Motor Company also honored Schaeffler for excellent cooperation and for its outstanding performance in the working relationship between the two companies. Ford emphasized the unceasing efforts towards achieving excellence with which Schaeffler’s employees distinguished themselves and made a decisive contribution to the company’s success. These achievements earned Schaeffler the “World Excellence Award 2012” from Ford.
In Japan, Schaeffler received the "Nissan Global Supplier Award" for the development of the LuK multi-link chain for use in the continuously variable transmission (CVT). This prize was jointly awarded by Nissan and Jatco. “It is an extraordinary honor for a European company to receive an award from a Japanese automobile manufacturer – an honor that was also recently bestowed on us by Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru)”, explains Andreas Englisch, CVT Product Line Manager at LuK. One of a series of awards received in China came from Shanghai Sanden Behr Automotive, who presented Schaeffler with the “Excellent Supplier Award” for its high level of technological expertise and its excellent quality and service.
In Brazil, Schaeffler scooped two “Best of the Year Awards” from Sindirepa* at the same time – one each for its INA and FAG brands. Receiving these awards places Schaeffler among the best suppliers to Brazil's automotive replacement parts market. “This award is the ultimate recognition for a brand. After all, the workshop mechanics and the end customers – for whom our products are important – are the people behind it. They are the ones whose votes placed our products among the best, and that is what makes this prize so valuable”, emphasizes Roberto Carbone, Sales Manager at Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket Brazil. South America's automotive industry also ranks Schaeffler among the best: Schaeffler Brazil was awarded the “Quality Achievement Performance Certificate” by Toyota, for example.
*Sindirepa is a vehicle repair and accessory organization based in São Paulo, Brazil.
Schaeffler has even gained recognition as a supplier on the African continent. This year saw Schaeffler take first place in General Motors South Africa's "Drive Train" prize category – the 17th time Schaeffler has been honored in this way by the company.
