Dana Holding Corporation (NYSE: DAN) announced that Robert Pyle, Dana's president, Asia Pacific, has been named among the Top Ten Automotive Managerial Talents by Gasgoo International, China's leading online news source for the automotive industry.
The award was presented on April 18 at Gasgoo's 2013 Fifth Annual Global Automotive and Auto Supplier Industry Summit, which recognizes individuals and organizations that demonstrate excellence and innovation in the automotive industry. Criteria for the Top Ten Managerial Talents award include a review of the candidate's leadership experience and organizational performance.
In the past year under Pyle's leadership, Dana announced the opening of two new facilities in Wuxi, China – the Dana China Technical Center and a new aftermarket distribution center – and debuted Spicer® Rui Ma™drivetrain products, a new class of axles, transmissions, and driveshafts that are designed and manufactured in China for China. Sales for the Asia-Pacific region experienced double digit growth in 2012.
Pyle has extensive leadership experience, especially in the Asia-Pacific automotive supplier arena. Prior to joining Dana, he was general manager for Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Trim Systems Co., Ltd., a Visteon joint venture in China. Pyle also served as the vice president of corporate development for ASIMCO Technologies, Inc., a privately-held automotive company based in Beijing.
This award also recognizes Dana as an elite member of the Chinese automotive supplier community. With its extensive global network of 94 major facilities, including 10 in China, Dana is able to respond quickly to specific market trends for its customers in the country.
"It is an honor to receive this prestigious award that affirms Dana's position as a preferred supplier to our OEM customers in China," Pyle said. "I am pleased to be a part of Dana's Asia-Pacific team – a group of talented, dedicated professionals who are committed to innovation and excellence."
Dana's continued commitment to innovation will be on prominent display at Auto Shanghai 2013, where it will showcase a lineup of driveline and alternative energy solutions available to OEMs in China and the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, Dana will introduce a complete all-wheel-drive system designed specifically for the Chinese light vehicle market that improves performance and handling. Dana will also highlight a complete portfolio of technologies designed to assist automakers in their efforts to build more efficient, higher-performing vehicles.
