Belarus will be able to take part in projects for retooling machine-tool enterprises of Tatarstan. The information was released by Ravil Zaripov, Vice Premier, Industry and Trade Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, at the meeting with First Vice Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko on 9 April, BelTA has learned.
Ravil Zaripov said: “It has been decided to set up a machine-tool cluster of the Republic of Tatarstan and I suggest we could work together in this area”. He informed about financing terms in Russia, including the financing of projects to retool defense industries. It is primarily true for the machine-tool industry where Belarusian products can be in demand. “We intend to consistently work together with Belarusian colleagues in this sphere,” underlined Ravil Zaripov. “The restoration of second-hand machine tools is another way for the partnership”.
Tatarstan is also interested in the Belarusian experience of developing information technologies. A major project to create an IT park is being implemented in the city of Kazan. “A new town for 150,000 people is being built where information technologies will be developed,” said the official. The Hi-Tech Park of Belarus is ready to share its experience. The sides are now considering the possibility of signing the relevant agreement on cooperation.
Tatarstan also shows its interest in enhancing manufacturing cooperation with Belarusian enterprises, including MTZ and MMZ. “In 2012 out of the 14,000 tractors shipped to Russia about 7,000 ones were assembled in Tatarstan and sold via our dealerships,” said Ravil Zaripov. “We have agreed to continue this work, raising the quality of aftersales service”.
