As part of a reorganisation at the start of 2013, NKE Austria GmbH has created an Information Management department and appointed Michael Schönberger as the first head of the new department.
Michael Schönberger joined the Steyr-based bearing manufacturer in 2011. He studied Production and Management at the Steyr University of Applied Sciences. After completing his studies, he worked for the manufacturing company Unision GmbH, where he was responsible for Information Technology and Logistics Management in the Automotive division. He then worked for the Asseco Group as a project manager on ERP projects relating to retail, machine building and plant construction.
The new Information Management department encompasses the functions of the former Information Systems and Project Management departments. The objective of information management is “to fulfil the requirements from the various departments rapidly and in a manner reflecting the state of the art, so that all disciplines have access to accurate, essential information that will enable them to make the right decisions”, explains Michael Schönberger. “Because an information management system that works well can be a significant competitive advantage.” The new Information Management department is a part of the Support division.
In the course of the restructuring project at the beginning of the year, all NKE departments were reassigned to one of three divisions, “Customer”, “Operations” and “Support”. The Support division is led by Commercial Managing Director Heimo Ebner, and besides Information Management also includes Accounting, Financial Controlling, Administration, Human Resources and Corporate Controlling. The Operations division is headed by Technical Managing Director Harald Zerobin and comprises Production, Quality Management, Safety, Health and Environmental Management and Law as well as Facility Management. The Customer division is the responsibility of Gunnar Simm, Authorised signatory and Deputy Managing Director. This division now includes the Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain Management departments. “The purpose of these changes is to create a more streamlined organisation in which customer orientation is paramount”, says Managing Director Heimo Ebner.
