Romax Technology, a provider of gearbox, bearing and driveline engineering systems, has launched a new concept design software package.
Called "Concept," the new product was developed in close collaboration with engineers at wind energy, industrial equipment and ground-vehicle companies. The new design software package provides semi-automated sizing - as well as definition and rating of gears, shafts and bearings - with a 3D visualization capability that allows the evaluation and manipulation of key parameters, Romax explains.
"Concept" can be used for any gear, shaft or bearing system application, from power tools to mining equipment and from complex automotive planetary automatic transmissions to the largest wind turbine gearboxes, Romax says.
The company says it also added two new design and analysis tools: RomaxDesigner and RomaxWIND, which are part of a suite of tools that enable the gear manufacturing process to be considered as part of the gear design and analysis activities.
All three products - Romax Concept R1, Romax Designer R14.5 and RomaxWIND R14.5 - will be available in late November.
