In recognition of its contributions towards water by making its premises water efficient under the Water Efficient Buildings programme by Singapore's national water agency, Public Utilities Board ("PUB"), Minebea's Pelmec Plant in Singapore was certified as a "Friend of Water".

Friends of Water is an initiative by PUB to recognize organizations and individuals who have contributed towards raising awareness about the importance and sustainability of water resources.
