AROUND 200 workers were evacuated earlier today after a fire in an extraction duct.

The incident at the Cooper Bearings site on Wisbech Road, South Lynn, was reported at around 12.45pm.

Three crews from Lynn were called to the premises, along with a crew from Sandringham.

They spent around an hour tackling the flames and ventilating the building. No-one was injured.

Cooper Bearings declined to comment on the fire or its cause when approached by the Lynn News.

But a Norfolk Fire Service spokesman said it was believed the incident had been caused by a mechanical fault.
