January 31, 2012 - The North American, Brazilian, Slovakian, French and Chinese operations of GGB Bearing Technology have been certified to the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series specification for health and safety management systems (OHSAS 18001).
GGB NA (Thorofare, NJ, USA) was certified by TÜV Rheinland; GGB Brasil (Barueri) by DQS; GGB Slovakia s.r.o. (Sučany) by the Slovak Association for Quality and Management Systems (SKQS); GGB France (Annecy) by AFNOR Certification; and GGB China (Suzhou) by SGS System Certification.
OHSAS 18000 is an international occupational health and safety management specification. Part 18001, to which GGB NA is certified, is designed to help an organization control occupational health and safety risks. It was developed in response to widespread demand for a recognized standard against which to be certified and assessed.
The OHSAS 18001 audit of the GGB operations revealed no deviations from the standard, but resulted in a number of recommendations which are being implemented to further improve its employee health and safety system.
