Nagoya, Japan, December 21, 2011 – JTEKT CORPORATION (JTEKT; Nagoya, Japan; President: Shoji Ikawa) is pleased to announce that the establishment of our company's “Integrated Brand Logo” to express our three major businesses, which are the automotive parts of JTEKT, the Bearings of KOYO and the Machine tools of TOYODA.
The object of this design is to express how the company’s three business brands are positioned and clarify their integration. We are unique supplier, which have machine tools and bearings those support industries and automotive parts. Through our consolidated technology as promised in the Integrated Brand Logo, we will be contributing society widely.
Design Concept:
The new logo expresses how these three business brands, with the difference among them expressed in their separation by the strokes of the letter “T”, are also integrated as a single entity. The design of this “T” is based on the ancient Greek word “Tekton” (meaning a person who possesses superior technical skills, i.e,. technology), from which the name JTEKT is derived.
About company history:
JTEKT was born in January 2006, which was the integration of Koyo Seiko Co., Ltd. and TOYODA Machine Works, Ltd.
Koyo Seiko had started in 1921, and its “KOYO” brand has been familiar, as bearings and steering manufacturing and sales company. TOYODA Machine Works had started in 1941, separated from Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. (Toyota Motor Corporation), and its brand of “TOYODA” has been familiar, as core business was Machine Tools.
