December 27, 2011—
Kistler, a worldwide supplier of precision sensors, systems and instrumentation for engine, chassis and vehicle development, as well as vehicle component manufacturing systems, has announced the successful completion of its new North American Technical Center, a 20,000 square foot sales, training and application support facility, located at 30280 Hudson Drive in Novi, Michigan. The Kistler North American Technical Center offers Detroit-area customers fully dedicated on-site technical product sales, service and applications engineering expertise, as well as A2LA accredited calibration services, for automotive testing, crash test, vehicle dynamics, manufacturing assembly joining and in-laboratory test requirements. In addition to the sensor and instrumention offerings of Kistler Instrument Corporation, the new facility will support the Kistler KT North America crash test portfolio of on-board, off-board and in-dummy data acquisition systems and software; Kistler Corrsys-Datron vehicle dynamics measurement technologies; and Kistler joining systems for manufacturing assembly operations. Kistler employees operating from the Farmington Hills, Flint and Novi facilities have all been moved to the new location, with no loss of jobs and further plans to expand as the needs of the business require. With this move, Kistler will be actively growing and maintaining two U.S. facilities: the Kistler manufacturing and customer support center in Amherst, New York, presently undergoing resource expansion; and the new Technical Center. For Kistler customers, this seamless transition will allow for expedited response times without any interruption of service.
Nick Wilks, Kistler North America managing director says, "It has been an exciting year for Kistler in North America. Our facility expansions have included the new Technical Center; continued investment and growth at our Amherst, New York location; and new operations announced earlier this year in Mexico. Each of these three facilities shall remain fully staffed and in active growth mode, allowing us to offer exceptional service and support for our longtime customers, while keeping pace with increasing industry demand for new Kistler product technologies in the marketplace."
