December 19, 2011, Sučany, Slovakia --The Slovakian operation of GGB Bearing Technology, GGB Slovakia s.r.o., has been certified to the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series specification for health and safety management systems (OHSAS 18001). The certification was conferred by The Slovak Association for Quality and Management Systems, Ltd., an independent auditing body.
OHSAS 18000 is an international occupational health and safety management specification. Part 18001, to which GGB Slovakia is certified, is designed to help an organization control occupational health and safety risks. It was developed in response to widespread demand for a recognized standard against which to be certified and assessed.
The OHSAS 18001 audit of GGB Slovakia revealed no deviations from the standard, but resulted in a number of recommendations which are being implemented to further improve its employee health and safety system.
