The national final of the 7th China MBA Business Case Competition was held at Tsinghua University on December 10, 2011. SKF China, shared a business case, "Sustainability in Supplier Development" for MBA students study and competition.
Mr Erik Nelander, President of SKF China, said: "Sustainability is one of SKF's business drivers, together with profitability, quality, innovation and speed. Supply chain management has become a professional area to study, and we believe an adaptive and sustainable relationship with all stakeholders in the chain will optimise the operational model of a lot of businesses."
The SKF-shared case was studied and presented by the teams from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, and the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing, both of which are winners from the regional finals in November. Business executives and scholars discussed and provided strong recognition to such sustainability practice in Morden business management.
"SKF is doing this as part of SKF Cares," said Mr Vincent Yang, Demand Chain Director, SKF China & Northeast Asia, who was one of the judges at the national final. "In addition to the business care, SKF cares also emphasizes on environment care, community care, as well as employee care, and integrates such concepts into suppliers sustainable partnership development. It also aligns well with current China's harmonized society. This has been well accepted and promoted in our suppliers development work in China."
In recent years SKF has been ranked as one of the top performing companies by Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI).
Fourteen university teams, the winners and runners-up from seven regional finals, including mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao regions, competed in the national final.
Started in 2005, the China MBA Business Case Competition is a nationwide competition hosted by Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management. More than 200 university teams took part in the competition this year.
